How we work

1. Prices

1. We read each tool's official pricing page. Every price links to its source.
2. A script (check-prices) re-fetches all 34 pages, compares every dollar amount with the last snapshot, and flags anything that changed.
3. Flagged changes are re-checked before the data is updated. The data is never edited automatically on a guess.
4. If a price can't be read (for example, the page loads it with JavaScript or blocks automated visits), it's marked Unverified and left blank. Right now 28 tools are fully verified, 4 partly, and 2 unverified. Last check: 2026-10-14.

2. Tests

Same prompt for every tool, raw outputs published, scored on a fixed rubric, with the run date and model version. We don't publish a test we didn't run, and we don't claim long-term hands-on use.

3. Writing

Every page is checked for accuracy against its sources, which are linked inline and listed at the end. We don't publish advice on finance, health or security beyond what tools cost and do.

4. Corrections

Found a wrong price or claim? Email [email protected] (inbox coming soon) with the page and source. We fix verified errors and note the change on the page.

5. Affiliate disclosure

Some links on this site may be affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links will always be labelled. Commissions never change prices, scores, rankings or verdicts. Tools with no affiliate program are covered exactly the same way. We may also run clearly marked sponsorships in the newsletter. Sponsors never get editorial control or a say in test results. At launch, no affiliate partnerships are active yet.
